1. CMC General Information
CMC is the one of the best activated assistants for detergent. It can prevent the dirt from attaching to fabrics. The principle is that the electronegative molecules of CMC repulse the electronegative thickening and prevents components depositing. CMC in liquid detergents has rheological property and disperse property. It can make the washing liquid viscous and stable. It also can provide desired pour viscosity in many liquid detergent such as hand sanitizer, dish detergent and lotions. In making soap, adding an appropriate amount of CMC helps to greatly improve the quality of soap. It enables soap to be pliable and flexible and thus convenient for pressing and processing.

CMC widely used in many industry, such as food industry, detergent industry, ceramics industry, oil drilling industry, textile and dyeing industry, paper industry etc.
Detergent grade: used for Detergent and soaps, Tooth paste, Moisturizing cream, shampoo, hair conditioner etc.
Oil drillling grade: Widely used in fracturing fluid, drilling fluid and well cementing fluid as fluid loss controller and tackifier. It can protect the shaft wall and prevent mud loss thus enhance recovery efficiency.
Food grade: used for dairy drinks and seasonings, also used in ice cream, bread, cake, biscuit, instant noodle and fast paste food. CMC can thicken, stabilize, improve taste, water retaining and tenacity strengthening.
Ceramics grade: usde for Ceramics body, Glaze slurry and Glaze decoration.

3.Application/Usage of CMC:
Oil drilling grade CMC used in fracturing fluid, drilling fluid and well cementing fluid as fluid loss controller and tackifier. It can protect the shaft wall and prevent mud loss thus enhance recovery efficiency.
CMC can be applied to the ceramic body, the glaze slip and fancy glaze. CMC is a good thickener which can increase the plasticity of sediment materials to facilitate the forming of ceramic body, and enhance the breaking strength of flakes. CMC used in the glaze slip and fancy glaze can be as the adhesive agents and take effects of suspension, deflocculationand water retention.
(1). CMC for ceramics features uniform distribution of substituents (carboxymethyl group) on the cellulose backbone. It produces fewer gel granules in glaze formulation.
(2). It contains no colored impurity and is 100% combustible under firing condition, to ensure clean ceramic glaze.
(3). It can stabilize physical and chemical property of glaze formulation.
(4). It can improve glaze adhesion and reduce glaze cracking.
(5). It facilitates formation of a smooth dense glaze layer.
(6). It can improve the rheological property of glaze formulation.
7. The glaze viscosity is proportional to the concentration of CMC added.
